ANDY LEE REMAINS determined to become a world champion again, and says he is not considering retirement in the immediate future.
Lee got back to winning ways earlier this year with a unanimous points victory over Alabama’s KeAndrae Leatherwood at Madison Square Garden in March.
It was his first competitive appearance since losing his WBO middleweight world title to England’s Billy Joe Saunders in December 2015, and the 33-year-old believes he can still get back to the summit of his weight division again.
The Limerick fighter told Off The Ball AM on Friday that he is ready get back in the ring and continue his quest for a world title.
But he also noted that he plans to reassess things if there is no movement in that regard within the next six months.

“The way it is now, I’m leaving it to fate or leaving it in the hands of the Gods,” he said after signing up to the Off The Ball team on Thursday night.
“The promoters I work with know I want to fight. They know I’m available to fight.

“I’ve given them a list of guys I will fight and a minimum purse that will have to (happen) to get in the ring again. If they can match that and meet those things, then I will fight again.
“I’m just going to leave it in their hands.
“If it doesn’t happen, I won’t be bitter, I won’t have any regrets about what’s happened and not fighting again.
I’m still young enough to fight, I’m still fit enough and I still believe I’m good enough to win a world title again if the right fight comes along. I’m going to give it four to six months and if it doesn’t come, then I’ll make a call.
“Until then, I’m going to keep my options open and try and stay in relatively decent shape and be ready.”
